My boys and I went to see the third installment of the Pirates of the Caribbean trilogy, At Worlds End, today. Excellent finish (or is it? hmmmmmmm) for the franchise... best of the three movies in my opinion.

I can't believe I wasted ten bucks on Spiderman 3 when I was in Ottawa recently... what a crappy movie. It was definitely about 45 minutes too long, and I can tell them where to cut that out... a certain dance sequence that was bloody awful, utter garbage. I could actually hear people in the audience groan during that part. Toby Maguire is a terrible actor, Topher Grace is much better and Kirsten Dunst is a terrible actress... I am glad they are all threatening to drop out... it's time for new and better. It's a shame when we finally have the technology to create the things that comic book characters can do and put that on screen, and then waste it all with lousy acting.

300... what a great movie... it has everything... good acting, good filming, great photography, excellent editing...a look that has to be seen to be believed. I can't wait for the DVD to come out, I like the extras that get included in them.

Eragon... well, it wasn't as good as it could have been and I'm a big science fantasy movie buff, but... been there, seen that before... and Robert Carlyle was wasted in that role. Too bad Jeremy Irons was killed off too... he was the best thing about the flick.

Saw Pan's Labyrinth... loved it, even with subtitles. Definitely worth seeing again when the DVD comes out.
